Do you really need to plan ahead? A bridge?

11 June 2019

MK Council were reminded recently by Alan Francis of MK Green Party that land will be needed to build a bridge at Bow Brickhill where the railway line crosses the road.

As the East-West rail link - the line between Oxford, Aylesbury, Bletchley, MK, Bedford and Cambridge - is re-opened in the next few years, the existing  level crossing will become a major block.  Any increase in road traffic from extra house building and any increase in the frequency of trains will start to cause major congestion.

Alan was not alone in mentioning that planning means thinking ahead, and not selling the land to developers so that building a bridge becomes impossible!  In a few years time, no-one will be able to say they weren't warned!
