In front an energised audience at Sherington Village Hall, Catherine explained key parts of the Green Manifesto, including the Party's commitment to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2030 and the seeding of a Green New Deal economy. She was warmly applauded by many, including the other candidates.
Catherine also reiterated the Party's pro-Remain stance as the best way of promoting Green policies within an international framework. She said that although Milton Keynes and other cities need more housing, using currently empty housing and priotising brownfield sites should be preferred to the destruction of scarce green field resources. All new housing should be carbon neutral.
"There were some brilliant questions from the floor, and the environment came up again and again as a burning issue," said Catherine. "Afterwards, many people came up to give me a hearty handshake and promise me their vote. We are picking up votes among disaffected Tories and their adult children, but also among people who have give up on the system - they see us as a true alternative."
Extra: Catherine will be part of the commentary team on Three Counties Radio between 2am and 3am on Friday morning.
