MK Green Party March-April newsletter is released

9 March 2020

Jo Breen, MK Green Party local election candidate for Bletchley East lays out her vision for Milton Keynes and Bletchley East.

Firstly, she takes MK council to task for declaring a climate emergency without a real strategy for implementation. In particular she highlights

  • The need to ensure new housing is built to the best environmental standards
  • The need to improve public transport to allow people to reduce their car usage
  • Supporting retail outlets to improve their energy efficiency
  • The improved health benefits from a green economy

Jo then goes on to highlight the need for better public transport in Milton Keynes, she makes the following points

  • As a regular commuter she finds MK busses unreliable and advocates using car parking fees to improve public transport
  • The council could incentivise cycling by making Redways and cycle paths safer
