Green Party Selects General Election Candidate for new Buckingham and Bletchley constituency

In the next general election Amanda Onwuemene will represent the Green
Party in the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency. She has been selected
by members of both the Milton Keynes and Aylesbury Vale Green Parties.

Amanda is a Green Party Councillor in the Wirral and is the Green Party
national Spokesperson for Policing and Domestic Safety. She currently works
as a psychotherapist so is very interested in improving people’s mental
health. Improving social and environmental measures play an important part
in maintaining our overall well being.

She was formerly a nurse, midwife and a health visitor so is also concerned
about the effects of the current Government’s underfunding of the NHS. This
is having adverse effects on our residents with longer waiting times to be
seen and for treatments. She previously worked as a University lecturer and
has concerns about educational achievement and movement into training and
employment for young people.

Amanda Onwuemene said:

I am pleased to be standing as the Green Party candidate for Buckingham
and Bletchley. I’m looking forward to door knocking in the Milton Keynes and
Buckingham area and listening to what residents feel are the most important
changes needed in our area.  Only a hard working Green Party MP can bring
these about.

I am passionate about environmental and social justice and believe a wealth
tax, ie the proportional payment of tax by multi millionaires is needed. This
would pay for the Green pledges that benefit everyone and make this a better
place to live, work and thrive.
